Your readers may be interested in our group’s latest goose hunting trip with Darrel Wise in Alberta, Canada.  Darrel invented the Real-Geese decoys and also a unique hay bale blind that is devastatingly effective.  Guiding for 35 years in both Canada and the U.S., Darrel Wise is one of the best callers I have ever hunted with and his attention to detail is simply amazing.

Although the central area is suffering from the worst drought in 130 years, Darrel was able to provide plenty of action for us on both Canadas and White-fronted geese.  Ducks were slow due to the severe lack of water, but Darrel’s friendly association with the local farmers made goose hunting a sure bet.

The lodge is very comfortable and suitable for ladies.  The food was simply marvelous, and the equipment first class.  He even supplied your choice of music in all locations, including while you were getting ready to hunt or were putting your gear back in the vehicles.

Licenses and shells can be purchased at the local Home Hardware store in the area so there is no need to bring anything but your registered shotgun into Canada.  You can prepay the registration fee online which is $50 C.  Also, it helps to register your arms with the U. S. Customs so you can prove they were purchased in the United States.
